One thing about OCD that people often fail to understand is how much those of us with OCD hate and dread doing our compulsions. If we’re cleaning/washing our hands/counting things, it’s not because we want to be but because we feel we have to. Compulsions take up a lot of time and energy and they can leave us feeling drained both physically and mentally. Most of us hate that we have to carry out our rituals and how much it affects our lives. People often think of people with OCD as people who are naturally neat and preoccupied with getting things right, but they fail to see how we feel about the rituals we have to perform.
To reiterate: People with OCD hate and dread doing our compulsions/rituals. It is not fun or pleasant at all.
